Remember getting books as a kid? Boring!!!

When your mum @rendezvous_dayboro owns a bookstore, you can bet your bookshelf that you’ll be getting a fresh stack of good reads for the new year.

When I was younger I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at the feel of a square or rectangle shaped item wrapped in Christmas paper, or birthday paper, any paper. Another bloody book.

Whenever there was a gift to be given by my mum, or by me (but bought by my mum), it was a book. I know that no one was looking forward to Deb getting them for secret Santa.

How the tables have turned. Now I rely on my mum to keep my stocked up on the good stuff. She has a knack for picking the great books. My kids bookshelves are overflowing and even my friends ask for recommendations from my mum.

Pretty soon she will be stocking my very own book in her shop. 🙊
