Swim

She put on her bikini. It had been a while. The lycra grabbed at her skin like hungry sucker fish. It made her feel hugged; taut. She strut to the pool as her fuller self, as long as she kept a baby near by her excuse was well known. She let her long hair down and approached the pool like it was an old boyfriend: a woman who’d forgotten about him.

And she swam.
